Chelyabinsk watch and clock factory MOLNIJA produced about a million household hours a year in Soviet times from 50 to 80-90. Unfortunately, the documentation on the numbers of the movements and the release dates were not preserved at the factory. You can send us an e-mail photo of the watch and the movement with the back cover open to determine the approximate dates of the watch. For pocket watches with a 3602, 3603 caliber, a guide to Molnija movements was compiled by users of the Russian watch forum. If you wish, you can compare your movement with the descriptions in this guide https://goo.gl/FoKNm1 (it is in Russian language).
At this time, the details of the 3602/3603 movements are not supplied separately, as there is no such technical possibility.
The black coating on Molnija watches is IP (Ion Plating) coating, which is a type of PVD. PVD coating involves several deposition methods through direct vapor condensation of the material being applied. IP coating, in essence, is an improved version of PVD in terms of resistance to scratches and rust. The main difference between IP and PVD is the presence of an additional layer that allows the surface to be any color, depending on the color of the dye used in the coating process.
All our watches are made from medical-grade 316L stainless steel, which is hypoallergenic and also used for manufacturing medical instruments. Additionally, we offer watches made from titanium, which is also a hypoallergenic material.
Additionally, consider the type of strap. Leather straps and metal bracelets should not be exposed to water. For water activities, it is better to use silicone, nylon, or rubber straps.
The price is determined by the combination of production costs: design development, acquisition of new equipment for manufacturing components, testing, and servicing the watches. We are expanding our production, implementing modern technologies, and attracting young specialists, all of which are quite costly. Additionally, we specialize in small-batch production, which enhances the quality of the watches but also impacts the cost per unit.
